These No Bake M&M Honey Oat Energy Bites will feel like a special treat, but are actually a healthy snack anytime!
EASY M&M HONEY OAT ENERGY BITES
These energy bites are a no bake easy recipe. Using a handful of ingredients, mix together, chill and enjoy! These energy bites are a healthier alternative to other sweet treats. The peanut butter is delicious and packed with protein that helps you get to the next meal.
My kids love these and are a perfect after school snack or lunchbox treat. I like to use the mini M&M’s because they seem to roll better. Check out the easy recipe below!
M&M Honey Oat Energy Bites are perfect when it is too late for a big snack because dinner is almost ready. The M&M’s add the right amount of chocolate to curb your appetite until dinner!
They are almost like having a cookie, but the oatmeal and peanut butter offer some healthy options and will give you the right amount of sweetness.
What’s even better about these Energy Bites is that they are NO BAKE and they are super easy to make! Mixing them together takes minutes and then you just need to wait for them to firm up in the refrigerator, which takes about an hour.
HELPFUL TIPS:
- If the dough is sticky, put the mixed dough into the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before rolling them into balls. They will go together easier and not be as sticky.
- You can use a cookie scoop if you want them all similar sizes.
ENERGY BITE ADD-IN’S OR SUBSTITUTES:
You can make these how you want them. You can even try adding flaxseeds or chia seeds. Or instead of M&M’s, try some almonds, coconut, raisins or dried cranberries.
If you need peanut free or you have a peanut allergy, try substituting the peanut butter for sun butter, pecan butter, almond butter, cashew butter, etc.
HOW LONG DO ENERGY BITES LAST IN THE FRIDGE?
If you place your energy bites in a sealed container in the fridge, you can keep them for about a week. I like to use these Rubbermaid glass ones. If you freeze them, you can keep them for up to three months.
HOW DO YOU FREEZE NO-BAKE ENERGY BALLS?
Roll the balls, place them on a cookie sheet in freezer for about an hour. After they are frozen, place them in either an airtight container or a zip lock bag and keep them in the freezer.
If you keep them in the freezer and then put them in your child’s lunchbox, they will be ready at lunchtime.
