Instant Pot Hawaiian Chicken Sandwiches
Hawaiian chicken sandwiches are perfect anytime of the year! Especially in summer when pineapple is the sweetest. If it is in the middle of winter, then Dole Pineapple would work just fine!
With only 3 ingredients… chicken breasts, pineapple and your favorite BBQ sauce. Posted below are some of our favorite BBQ sauces. I don’t know about you, but the pineapple and BBQ flavors with chicken is so delicious!
I like to pressure cook this recipe for 18 minutes to really get those flavors in the chicken!
It’s great to reheat as well. I place the leftover chicken in a container and then just reheat the amount needed for the next day lunch or dinner. Then place it on the bun.
These come together so quick, they’ll be a hit for all who get to try them! It’s really the perfect recipe for summer BBQ’s, a quick meal during the school year or really anytime of the year.
Do you love the Instant Pot as much as I do? These Instant Pot Hawaiian sandwiches will be your new favorite go to recipe. They are fast to make and will feed a crowd.
Budget-friendly, simple and only 3 ingredients… that is my kind of recipe on busy nights! These Hawaiian sandwiches have just a hint of sweetness from the pineapple. Combine that with the BBQ sauce and everything is right in the world.
These sandwiches are seriously super delicious. The chicken is covered with wonderfully sweet Hawaiian sauce. Shredded and placed on a bun, the chicken could also be topped with a terrific coleslaw that gives the sandwich both great texture and flavor.
Hope some of you get a chance to try them. They are perfect for summer when you don’t want to turn on your oven!
Hawaiian Chicken Sandwiches Ingredients:
- 2 boneless chicken breasts
- 1 bottle BBQ 28 fl. oz
- 1 20oz can of pineapple chunks or crushed
How to make Hawaiian Chicken Sandwiches with 3 ingredients:
1. Place chicken breasts into the pressure cooker. I usually cut them into strips because it seems easier to shred when complete.
2. Pour BBQ sauce and pineapple chunks or crushed pineapples with the juice on top. I take a spatula and move the chicken around so that its covered on all sides.
3. Pressure cook on HIGH for 18 minutes with a 10 minute natural release.
4. Shred the chicken when complete and return to the pot. I like to use meat shredding claws, they make it so easy to shred chicken. You can also use 2 forks or a mixer.
5. Drizzle the chicken with sauce and serve on buns or over rice with your pineapples.
Serve Hawaiian Chicken Sandwiches with:
- Fruit
- Chips
- Potato Salad
- Cole Slaw
