This chocolate caramel apple bark tastes just like a caramel apple.
It includes toppings such as caramel, diced apples, and chocolate for one delicious fall treat! This caramel apple bark is all the things you love about a caramel apple and makes them way easier.
It’s great for serving at a fall gathering or just making some when you want the taste of a caramel apple.
Ingredients
- Apples – I like to use granny smith green apples, but you can use any type of apples you want. Don’t dice them until you’re ready to put them into the caramel so they don’t brown.
- Caramel – I just used the tub of caramel you buy the store, but you could also melt caramel bits or squares.
- Chocolate chips – I like using semi-sweet chocolate chips but this would also be good with milk or dark chocolate chips, butterscotch, or white chocolate.
- Pretzels – This gives it a nice crunch, but you could also use candy bits or nuts.
Instructions
- Line a 13″ x 18″ baking sheet with parchment paper or a baking mat and set aside.
- Place 2 1/2 cups of chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds then stir. Continue cooking and stirring every 15 seconds, until chocolate chips are melted and smooth.
- Spread melted chocolate on prepared baking sheet, then top the melted chocolate with a layer of pretzels.
- Dice up the apples and place on top of the chocolate and pretzels.
- Add a layer of drizzled caramel. If using store bought caramel, melt in the microwave for about 15 seconds in a microwave safe dish. If using caramels, melt in the microwave until bubbly stirring every 15 seconds.
- Place a 1/2 cup of chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds then stir. Continue cooking and stirring every 15 seconds, until chocolate chips are melted and smooth. Drizzle final layer on top.
- Place baking sheet into the refrigerator and allow to cool for 2-3 hours.
