Valentine’s Day crayon hearts are the perfect little treat to pass out with your Free Printable Crayon Valentine card.

My favorite part of Valentine’s Day is coming up with creative little treats for my kids to hand out.  I love the cute sayings and matching them to fun treats for classroom Valentine’s Day parties.

My daughter and I made these cute Crayon hearts. I designed a Free Printable Heart Crayon Valentine to go with them.

We have made other melted crayon projects such as Lego crayons, which was a blast! It’s such a useable gift idea and all kids love coloring.

How do I make my own heart crayons

This is a very easy craft project idea. I would just have a little time to gather some old crayons. You will need the following items:

  • About 60-75 crayons (I prefer Crayola.)
  • Sharp knife
  • Heart Silicone mold

Using a very sharp knife, cut through the wrapper on each crayon length-wise and remove it. Break the crayons into small pieces, if they are not already broken.

Sort the crayons by colors that will work well together — greens and yellows; blues and purples; and pinks and reds. Fill each heart in the silicone mold with broken crayons.

Bake at 250 degrees for 15-20 minutes until crayons are fully melted. Allow to cool and harden completely before removing from the mold.

Optional: Add a few drops of lavender or citrus oil to the melted crayons before allowing them to cool. This will make the crayons aromatic and enhance the sensory benefits of them!

How do I print the Valentine card

I designed a heart crayon Valentine card to match the heart crayon shape. I kept the card black and white to allow the little one that received it to be able to color it. Isn’t that adorable!

You can download your Free Printable Heart Crayon Valentine here. I recommend using cardstock to print them on. Cut out the heart crayon valentines and attach the heart crayon using glue dots.

Love this Valentine’s Day idea and need to save it for later?  Be sure to pin it above.
