Instant Pot Chocolate Covered Strawberries are one of the easiest treats that you can make using the Instant Pot as a double broiler to melt chocolates.
Chocolate covered strawberries may be my favorite dessert in the world. They do seem like a fancy dessert, but they are actually super simple. If you are making these around Valentine’s Day, strawberries are usually less expensive especially compared to the price of local bakeries.
What you need to know about melting chocolate in the Instant Pot
Chocolate covered strawberries have never been easier. Melting the chocolate in the Instant Pot and keeping it warm and melted is so incredibly easy. Save money and make your own treats for the holidays.
With the Instant Pot dipping strawberries in chocolate could not be easier. The best thing is that it not only melts quickly and evenly, but it stays melted for as long as you need it! When I made them with the microwave, I was always rushing to dip before the chocolate would harden.
What is the best melting chocolate?
Make sure that you choose the best melting chocolate. Here is a list that will help make it easier. My favorite is dipping chocolate or almond bark.
- Chocolate Melts
- Baking Chocolate in the form of bars.
- Candy melts
- Almond Bark
- Chocolate Chips *
You can find dipping chocolate in white, milk or dark. Please note if you are using chocolate chips, you will need to add either shortening or coconut oil. Add 1 tablespoon of shortening or coconut oil per cup of chocolate chips. This just helps the chocolate to harden again after being melted. Chocolate chips also come in varieties of white, milk, dark or semi-sweet.
How to make Chocolate Covered Strawberries
We will be using the Instant Pot as a double broiler. You will need your Instant Pot, water and a glass bowl that is a bit larger than your Instant Pot. The bottom of the bowl should sit inside the Instant Pot but the top should be taller.
Turn the Instant Pot onto Sauté on low or normal. I do not recommend high as the water will be rolling with water and steam trying to escape the edges.
It will take about 5-10 minutes to start melting and then you can stir gradually until melted.
Once the chocolate is smooth and melted, push cancel. Then push the keep warm button to keep your chocolate melted for as long as you need.
Remember that the glass bowl will be very hot, so handle with oven mitts or heat pads.
What can I dip in the melted chocolate besides strawberries?
Once the chocolate is melted, you can dip your strawberries. We also dip pretzels, pretzel rods, marshmallows, Rice Krispy treats, grapes, and more. The possibilities and fun are endless. If you have different colored candy melts, you can melt them the same way.
