Do you love eating a hearty meatball sub covered in rich sauce, melted cheese, all on buttery toasted bread? Our family loves getting subs from different shops, but now it’s time to recreate them at home for a fraction of the cost! Made in the Instant Pot makes it a super easy weeknight meal your whole family will enjoy.
You can use store bought meatballs or make your own. It depends on my week whether I go with homemade or store bought meatballs. When buying store bought, I prefer the Italian style. Also, I use pizza sauce because of the flavors.
If you want to make homemade meatballs, this is the recipe I use:
Homemade Meatballs
1 lb ground beef
1 c plain bread crumbs
2 eggs
1/2 c grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tbsp dried parsley
1/4 c marinara sauce
salt & pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients and form into meatballs.

Meatball Subs
Meatball subs is a hearty meal for a weeknight or crowd that is ready in 30 minutes with rich sauce and melted cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 32oz bag of Italian Style meatballs
- 4 c shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 6 pack of Artisan sub bread
- 14 oz pizza sauce
- 2 c water
Instructions
- Pressure cook your meatballs for 0 minutes with a quick release.
- Meanwhile, butter your rolls and cook them in the Air Fryer for 3 minutes at 400 degrees or in the oven until golden brown.
- Once meatballs are cooked, place on the toasted buns.
- Pour sauce and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top. Enjoy!
